— Mission & Origin
Poetry as a Borderless Vessel of Healing
This is not another conventional elderly-care template. We address a universal spiritual solitude of the digital era—building an equal, two-way, sustainable empathy model through original bilingual poetry.

I grew up in the old lanes of Ruijin Erlu, Shanghai, and published my first poetry collection, Hour of Light, at age ten. Studying at Cheltenham Ladies’ College in the UK, I fell deeper into the emotional healing power of English verse.
One elder, one youth—held by the same line of verse
While boarding, I lived with my guardian grandmother. She eased solitude through English poetry; my own homesickness and academic pressure softened under the same lines. Back in Shanghai, living alongside my grandparents, I saw the quiet loneliness of elders in the neighborhood. The same spiritual ache on both shores convinced me: poetry can bridge China and the UK—and bridge generations.
From personal insight to social practice
I set out as a young China–UK cultural ambassador, building a two-way literary bridge with peers: elders share lived wisdom, youth bring fresh vision, and bilingual student ambassadors open a transnational poetry channel—three sides listening, three sides nourished.

— The Challenge
Universal Spiritual Solitude in the Digital Age
In a fully digitized social world, solitude is no longer age- or nation-bound. While traditional charity often works one-way, we open to every generation—using accessible poetry as a vessel for feeling.

01 — ELDERS
Elderly Communities
Confined to peer-only circles, elders find AI companionship cold. They long for offline listening and cross-circle exchange—a human voice over algorithmic comfort.

02 — YOUTH
Local Youth
Immersed in fragmented online life, youth lose offline depth and written expression. Poetry restores the empathy and craft that screens dilute.

03 — GLOBAL
Global Young Adults
Geography limits real cross-age, cross-border dialogue. Through mutual translation of verse, distance no longer has to be emotional exile.
— Research & Validation
Data Proves: Face-to-Face Reading Still Matters
Research covered seniors living alone on Ruijin Erlu Street, local students and community youth, plus UK elders, young adults, and frontline staff—framed by Japan’s intergenerational research.

01 The human gap in AI companionship
Virtual tools cannot replace the warmth of human listening and shared reading.
02 Missing empathy channels across ages
Elders lack young interlocutors; youth lack chances to listen to elders.
03 Every circle has limited vision
Elders, local youth, and global peers all need cross-age, cross-border exchange.
04 Traditional humanistic forms are fading
Handwriting, recitation, and co-creation remain powerful antidotes to loneliness.
05 Trilateral linkage sustains freshness
China–UK trilateral loops keep dialogue alive beyond one-off events.
06 Intergenerational healing is two-way
Youth ease elders’ spirits; elders teach youth empathy and patience.
— Social Mobility & Actions
From Lane to Shore: Making Poetry a Public Action
On Ruijin Erlu Street we host poetic gatherings and the Twin-City Poetry Corner, while linking UK elders and youth communities—each event a node in ongoing China–UK literary dialogue.

— Anthology & Soundscape
Trilateral Soundscape · Bilingual Translation
The anthology gathers original works, classic bilingual translations, and cross-border messages—a tangible humanistic archive.

— Solutions & Long-Term Mechanism
Weekly · Monthly · Quarterly · Annually
We reject one-off events. A four-level loop and five operational pillars keep poetry open to every age—and empathy across every border.

— Core Team
Cross-Border, Cross-Generational Collaboration
Four core members from Cheltenham Ladies’ College and Radley College connect street offices, recitation associations, and overseas networks.

—Measurable Impact
Goals You Can Count—and Feel
Charity needs warmth and yardsticks. Monthly metrics and annual milestones keep the project trackable, replicable, and scalable.

—Call to Action
Heal · Create · Recite · Gather
